Check this first, before any list
DEWA publishes its own register of enrolled solar PV contractors and consultants. Any company you are considering must appear on it, because a grid-connected system installed by a non-enrolled contractor cannot be legally connected under Shams Dubai — the application is simply rejected.
Contractors are also graded by category. Category A covers smaller residential systems, B mid-size commercial, C larger industrial work. Confirm the category covers your system size, not just that the company is on the list.

Four questions that filter out most problems
- Are you on DEWA's enrolled contractor list? Verify it yourself on dewa.gov.ae rather than taking the answer.
- Does your category cover my system size? A/B/C classification is by project scale.
- Is every module and inverter on DEWA's approved equipment list? Ask for the datasheets. Unlisted equipment cannot be connected, whatever the price.
- Does the quote include approvals, inspection and connection, or only hardware? This is where cheap quotes usually hide the gap.
Why a suspiciously cheap quote is usually not a bargain. The three most common reasons a Dubai solar quote comes in far below the others: unlisted equipment that cannot be connected, scope that excludes DEWA approvals and connection fees, or no maintenance provision at all. Any of the three turns a saving into a cost.

How do I check if a solar company is DEWA approved?
DEWA publishes its list of enrolled solar PV contractors and consultants on dewa.gov.ae. Check the company appears there, and confirm the contractor category (A, B or C) covers your system size before signing.
What are the DEWA contractor categories?
Contractors are classified by the project sizes they may undertake. Category A covers smaller residential systems, Category B mid-size commercial, and Category C larger industrial and commercial projects. A contractor certified only for residential work cannot deliver an industrial plant.
Does hiring a DEWA-approved contractor matter?
Yes, and not only for quality. A grid-connected solar system installed by a non-enrolled contractor cannot be legally connected under Shams Dubai. The application will be rejected. Many UAE banks also require DEWA-approved installation before financing a system.
Which solar company in Dubai is the best?
