Develop. Finance. Supply. Build.
Six technical divisions and one financing capability. Most contractors do one of these. The reason we do all of them is that clients rarely have a problem that fits neatly inside one.

Making it happen
Why one contractor across all of these
A client with a factory in Sharjah does not have a solar problem. They have an energy cost problem, a reliability problem and increasingly a reporting problem. The right answer might be rooftop PV, or PV with storage, or storage alone, or a charging hub for their fleet, or several of those sequenced over three years.
A contractor who only sells solar will recommend solar. We would rather size the actual problem, and occasionally tell a client that the thing they asked for is not the thing they need.
Where the divisions genuinely connect. Our geothermal and carbon capture work rests on the same drilling engineering — casing, cementing, completion — that our parent group has done since 1988. Our EV charging depends on the battery storage division to make modest grid connections deliver fast charging. Our hydrogen work depends on the solar division to supply cheap electricity. These are not separate businesses sharing a logo.
Certifications and compliance
Credentials that clients and tender evaluators can verify:
| Credential | Scope |
|---|---|
| ISO 9001:2015 | Quality management system |
| DEWA Approved Solar Contractor | Enrolled to design, submit and install under Shams Dubai |
| NEBOSH National General Certificate | Occupational health and safety competence |
| OSHA Compliance | Site safety practice |
| U.S. Green Building Council | Member — LEED-aligned project support |
| BSI / CE | Equipment supplied to British and European standards |
Engineering standards
IEC 61215 and 61730 for PV module qualification and safety, IEC 62109 for inverter safety, IEC 62933 for battery energy storage, NFPA 855 for storage fire safety, IEEE 1547 for grid interconnection, IEC 60364 for electrical installations, IEC 60617 for drawing symbology and IEC 61724 for performance methodology. Final designs are certified by licensed engineers and approved by the relevant national authority during permitting.
Where we deliver
Headquartered in the UAE, delivering across the Gulf, wider Middle East, Africa and Central and South Asia. Each market has its own utility, regulator and settlement mechanism, and we publish what those actually are.
Frequently asked questions
What services does Smart Gulf Energy provide?
Solar PV EPC, battery energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, green hydrogen development, carbon capture and storage, geothermal power, and EPC-plus-financing structuring.
What is the difference between EPC and EPC+F?
EPC covers engineering, procurement and construction under a single contract. EPC+F adds project financing, so the capital structure and the build are arranged together rather than sequentially by separate parties.
What size projects do you take on?
From 5 kWp residential rooftop solar to 200 MWp utility-scale plants, and battery storage from 1 MWh to 500 MWh. EPC+F structuring generally suits projects of 5 MW and above.
Are you certified?
We are ISO 9001 certified for quality management and an approved DEWA solar contractor, and have been delivering solar EPC since 2005.
Do you provide maintenance after construction?
Yes. Long-term operations and maintenance is available across all divisions, including performance monitoring, cleaning schedules and equipment servicing.
